About us
Contact
Improv Kuala Lumpur was founded in early 2009 with the aim of building
and fostering an improvisation community based in and around the Klang
Valley (Kuala Lumpur and beyond) whose primary interest lies in the
exploration and development of the art form of contact improvisation.
This involves the providing of classes, workshops, and jams to local
dancers, the general public, and also to visitors from abroad.
In 2011, Contact Improv Kuala Lumpur was instrumental in making Contact
Festival Kuala Lumpur a reality. The festival was the first of its kind
in the region, with the aim of transference of skills and knowledge and
the providing of networking opportunities for dancers within the region
and beyond.
Since then, Contact Improv Kuala Lumpur has been communicating and
collaborating more with the greater Asian improvisation community,
essentially forming an informal network with like-minded communities in
countries such as Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan.
